I’ve picked up using my zim again and I’ve been getting pretty good results. Now that i’ve printed quite i think it’s time (probably way overdue) for some maint. What are you using to oil the rods? I need to oil mine.
What other maintenance have you guys been doing?
My zim (octoprint, driving filament with top stepper only,print on blue painters tape, larger parts i put the glue on top of painters tape. print with inland PLA mostly; print at 198-200 depending on filament color.
Planned changes:
-unplug lower stepper motor. I’m feeding filament from the top with 1 stepper motor, I haven’t adjusted current so i leave it plugged in.
-do something about noisy fan
-tighten down gears to ensure they are all still tight.
-possibly pick up a backup zim if the price is right.
