Low pressure on filament gear

I do have problems with my extruder again as the grip of the gear is so low it cannot push filament through the nozzle:

  • PLA
  • temperatue 200 °C
  • fan: 20 %
  • filament diameter 1,74mm
  • load filament directy into head extruder (bypass the bottom extruder)
  • when slow extuding the lines look perfect: e.g. at infills (fast) there are hardly any extruded lines
  • bed is perfectly aligned - happens also on higher print layers
  • when extruder is heated up and the extruder stepper is blocked (!) i can push filament through the nozzle
  • extrusion width is calibrated: when filament is extruded, the surface is perfect but it keeps stopping to extrude time to time

Has anybody got the same problem!?

Hello,

I sometime have feeding issue.
It looks append when I print with 50microns and maybe autoFan.

Did you find a solution ?
Is your bottom extruder fix feeding issue ? It is only because of low pressure ?

thank you

I completely solved this issue for me by using my newest creation
If oyu’re using this you cannot use the RFID chip anymore and you have to use the cartridges my placing them outside of the ZIM

Combine it with a fan to cool the Nema and you should not have any issues anymore!

So far my printer prints far better results than a 35.000€ Stratasys (!)

KingMartin, it would be very cool to see some test prints from your setup! I haven’t hacked my printer so far, but I am getting more and more tempted, as days go by… Modifying the slicer/printer profiles helped the print quality quite a bit, but I think there are several limitations with the hardware itself as well.

Here a print done with Zeepro:

0,15mm layers
over 300mm high
all limbs moveable and adjustable with ratchet mechanism
60-70 hours of print time
self designed (8x larger than the standard Lego-minifigure)
optimized to print without support
no surface treatment: kept it “as it is” without sandpaper or something

And this one:

also 0,15mm layers!

I fixed feeding issue with an other bottom extruder.
It worked, I have no feeding issue anymore.

thank you

By the way, I’m getting better results (with one extruder) since few prints.
Good feeding filament and also better understanding of parameters.

next step : dual extruder !
