so i have been in contact with kickstarter and they are going to reach out to the founders.

Contacting zeepro
The founders are either in France now or, in the owner’s case, under intensive physical therapy following a serious car accident. In fact, there’s only one guy (Jim) who’s still around. As far as I can tell he’s holding all the cards.
He’s planning to open an eBay store over the next few weeks to sell replacement parts etc. and offer repair services.
No word about moving everything to open source. I’m not hopeful at the moment. Jim is a hardware guy and I expect has neither the authority nor the motivation (never mind the skills) to release proprietary IP such as the firmware sources.
