Back up firmware

It’s basically an Arduino board so you’ll find step per step instructions when googling something like “Marlin Firmware” on “Ramps board”. There are tons of guidelines and forums&posts (especially RepRap forums) out there.

As long as you’re not using the first firmware versions I guess EVERY firmware will support the heated printbed.

@KingMartin awesome! I will try.
Thank you!

Still having troubles.

  1. no heat bed support with
    Current software version 1.8.3
    Firmware version 1.1.0.14
There is no option after slicing as shown in user instruction(a paper come with heat bed).

  2. I can not find how to connect A10_board to PC and Mac.
It never recognize or appears on device manager.
I have checked drivers, installed FTDI driver. I have tried with two A10_boad. I changed USB cable, tried on both Mac and WindowsPC but never worked.
I am wondering if I am doing wrong in the very first place, how to physically connect to PC.

I am connecting them with using MiniUSB cable.
MiniUSB port which says OTG <—>PC USB PORT
am I doing something wrong?

please some one tell me how to connect them?
I am not a tech genius but a tech dummies… :confounded:

If i remember well, heated bed came with 1.8.4 Zim firmware

@eric you are correct.
Only one of my zim got updated automatically :car:

@Insomnia I have uploaded .img file of 1.8.3.

@Opera, Thank you. Finally we have a more current image. Really would like to archive 1.8.7. If anyone has it, Please upload. Thanks.

I’ll have to dig around and figure out what my last release was. It looks like ‘with me’ i have version 1.8.4 (June 18, 2015)

I thought i had a newer one but I would have to look on a back up drive.

I have the image file of version 1.8.4.
Where should I upload it?

@J_Schmidt Thank you for letting us know.
I have my image to uploaded to @Insomnia 's Dropbox here

Okay, Thanks. I just uploaded the 1.8.4 Software.

It worked!
Finally, I can use heat bed!!
Thank you J_Schmidt!!

You´re welcome!
Speaking of the heated bed:
If you consider printing ABS, try covering the glass plate with kapton tape and use sandpaper to rughen the surface. Works fine for me. BUT: Do not use the bed temperature that Zeepro recommends: 110° is far too hot (at least for the Nunus ABS filament that I use). So when using the heated bed, I click the PLA or ABS button in the software and then manually adjust the temperature with the slider to 50°C for PLA or 90°C for ABS.
Most times, it´s also okay if you pull the plug after the first 5-6 millimetres height.

Have you also experienced a better print quality with the new software? I have the feeling that the layers are more accurate and stick together much better than in the previous 1.8.1.

Improved ZIM stand with integrated spool holder (just kidding)

Hello,

Please does someone could provide me the 1.8.7 disk image ? I am in China and it is quite impossible to get connected to Dropbox.

Thank you for your help Guys

Bump To get this thread up to the top of the list.

I uploaded a rooted version of the 1.8.4 software.

If you update to this version, you will be able to ssh into the zim with ssh root@zim.local one you get your networking set up properly. The root password is “zim”

The root password is the only change on that image from J_Schmidt 1.8.4 image.

It would be nice if someone uploaded the latest update SD card image (presumably 1.8.7).

i am having the same exact problem i am trying to install debian or cubian so that i can install octoprint but i have no success with connecting
have you?
